gimme dat mat!

well friends, i’ve gotten hooked on taking pictures with my iphone! this is from today’s photo safari down on the cliffs. the waves were totally rocking! after bikram, ess and i ventured out to the cliffs and enjoyed lunch as the waves splashed high in front of us. you should definitely click and enjoy the larger, uncropped versions of these pictures. i can’t believe my iphone took these!

i was so distracted during class today. i put my mat in the back row and could not believe the mat i saw in the front row. it was my friend hs’s mat that was stolen from the lost and found a month or two back! i practised next to or behind that mat for so long, i recognized all it’s lumpy curves. i was almost livid during class. i so wanted to say something, but i didn’t want to start a confrontation. “give me that mat!”

oh you guys, i’m embarrassed to say i’m a tattle-tale. i talked to my teacher and she was like if you don’t say something, i’ll ask her about it. you wanna know what she said? she said she got it from the lost and found but had left her mat like that earlier. those were her almost exact words. the way she said it, could have been truthful and she never actually claimed ownership. like, oh i bought this mat years ago, or, i bought this mat here. nothing like that. she knew not to lie because her karma is already bad enough—she’s practising on a stolen mat! other than that minor (ha) distraction, class totally rocked! see you tomorrow ~m p.s. sorry, hallie, i shoulda just taken it anyway.

Nice photos!!! Now I have iphonenvy.

Funny you brought up being distracted in class, I was so distracted this morning, my balance was terrible. Worse than normal. My concentration runs the extremes, I can super hyper focus and also be all over the road.

I hope your yogi friend gets her mat situation resolved. I had a sigg water bottle disappear 6 months ago and it never made its way to the lost and found.

hi swizz – great pix! that looks like tilt shift photography – a wide shot with some in focus and some not.. funny – today at our studio it was ‘give away all the mats that have been in the lost and found too long day’!!

thanks for the nice words, heartbreakers ~ i’m so lucky to have an iphone! secretm, when your mind starts to wander, force yourself to concentrate on your breath ~ i lost my klean kanteen to a lost and found thief and still need to replace it.

mare, ways nailed the first photo ~ it was shot with an app called tilt shift generator, pretty cool, huh? the other photo was shot with my favorite app ~ old camera!

traci, good on you for moving spots ~ i’ve practised in every spot in our studio ~ i don’t wanna have a spot, though i still tend to gravitate towards “areas”
