not kidding friends, this is about a half-mile out to sea. even though he’s too far away for a good action shot, i kinda like the massiveness of the setting with only the ocean and monterey in the background. i think it’d make a nice “playground” shot for the red bull illume contest, what do you think? i know i’m dreaming, but that’s okay because the grand prize is my dream camera, a $22,000 leica. yes, i dream of owning a camera that costs as much as a small car more often than i dream of having a car of any sort.

the friday four is the funnest class of the week. there’s lots of people so it’s almost always hot and humid. our teacher had to drag a ladder into the room to reset the heater right before class. i don’t know why she wouldn’t let me bring it in for her, but she let me carry it out as she went and got cleaned up. she had to go into the drop down part of the ceiling to get the heater going again. i chided one bender, come on man, you’re an electrician, you should be on that ladder, not her. oh, but our teacher did a good one today! i was right next to my friend who shoots you dirty looks if you do anything outside the dialogue. anything. i silently belched one time and got a dirty look from her. she likes me and i still got a dirty look! oh, but anyway, on the other side of me was one of the biggest fidgeters in our studio’s collection of regulars. the hotter and more humid it is, this woman is the first to start bending her arms down during the poses and doing all kinds of wiping, adjusting, shifting and sighing in between the poses. after one hair fix, the baker said, yeah, fixing that piece of hair was perfect, you look really good now. oh man, she’s not known as the funny one, but she’s got a good sense of humor. that was actually the funnest part of class because the heat really did get going. because it was such a hot and humid class, i challenged myself to only drink during party time. with all i eat, i felt fine throughout class. my only regret was not doing a double!!

in case you’re wondering, today was day 732 of bikram yoga. i’m such a space cadet, i thought my 2 year anniversary was today, but it was really the 13th. so today was my 2 year and 2 day anniversary of doing bikram yoga daily. i’m not doing any kind of challenge, i just love the way bikram yoga makes my body feel and i love the effects it’s having on my posture, my attitude and my continued sobriety. i love sweat and i hope someday you will too. namaste, friends ~m
