“these ducks ain from roun deez parts.” the storm brought out some wildlife i wasn’t used to seeing, like a lot of different ducks. i’m one of those weirdos who thinks ducks are cute.

wow, nightmare class today. standing head to knee, left knee locked, just as i locked my right knee, something happened in my lower back and i went straight down on my mat. oh, was i in a world of hurt. the baker was practising right next to me and asked what happened. i don’t know! i sat, vajrasana style for the rest of the standing series. i laid in savasana for the entire floor series.

ugh. being in the bikram yoga studio and not doing the poses is like being in an amusement park where you can’t ride any of the rides. i was so frustrated. i felt super healthy except for the sheering pain in my back. oh my god, i have a high threshold for pain, but this was pretty bad. well, needless to say, the rest of the day has been interesting, but not worth writing about. well, maybe worth writing in someone’s book, but not mine, i’ve had prouder moments.

it will be interesting to see if i follow my own advice tomorrow. i always say you gotta work through your injury, but, right now, i can barely walk. more from the healing trail tomorrow ~m

    Be careful! A hurt back is not a good thing! Don’t do anything crazy…I know you will want to be in the room, but if that’s all you can do, don’t push it. ~M~

    I had back issues for years following a 5 car accident. Back pain in a word…STINKS! Be careful, don’t do the sit up. If you do practice just do what you can. Don’t push it. I always think heat felt best on my back, others swear by ice. Moist heat is great. Take a moist cloth, microwave for a minute or until warmed, place in bag and lay on it. Feels so good! Best of luck with your back! The good news is that because your back is so strong from Bikram it should heal quickly.

    taking it easy, keeping my abs in as often as i can remember. agreed, i think i will heal quickly. rest feels weird!
